Designing a business card
In this powerpoint i go over what is a business card and how to format and make one, making sure the steps and creative process is right throughout as well as looking into examples into of proffesional but creative examples of business cards as well as creating some designs of my own with some of my previous logo's and current ones.
Powerpoint on designing a business card -
After this powerpoint i decided to create a google form quiz detailing 4 options into possible business cards i wanted to get feedback to see if my opinion could be changed or if seeing the choices i made were the same as others i wanted to see what people think of my potential business card and go from there see if i could improve it or make the most liked one better.
Sites i used to create the logo's and bussiness cards -
These were the Three main sites i used to create, edit or devolop my logo's and ongoing business cards i was using look.com to create on brand logo's for my business cards but in terms of business cards i didnt find what i was looking for through freedom and choice on there. Thats when i found out about create vista which is a site that allows you to create proffesional business cards that are tailoured to me create vista allowed me to create edit and change any platform i wanted i was allowed to change colours, backgrounds, fonts, details, shape, size and more i used the logo's and previous fonts to create a fitting and building link between the logo's and business cards i tried a couple of examples and differant ideas of what could be my business cards for future usage. I also rendered and uploaded each image below into a image enhancer since i coudnt use look to create my business cards i had to think outside of the box to find the best way possible to get the logo's and fonts across the create vista without losing quality assurance so i decided before i did that i rendered them through remini which is a free (ish) website that allows you to put images in and it will dramatically change the quality of them which i did and it helped me keep the quality of the fonts and logo through the business card making.
This is the after image of the quality being upped it is ten times better overall i think it was crucial for me to up the quality because since looka had the logos' and font's i wanted to use i wanted to save them both for devoplment and growth and for that they were great designs i didnt want to waste them so i decided to crop them each one and up the quality of each one so i can use differant fonts, lettering and logo's in each of my business cards this actually turned out to give me more freedom since i could mix and match each one and play around with designs to see what i would like and what would or could work for me or the business card. Remini was a crucial app/part in making the business cards i think the designs and the devolopment of it would have been worse without it.
Files i used to create some of the letterings and business cards -
Business card (1) -
Business card (4) -
These were the 4 options i chose i decided these were the 4 i wanted to get feedback on and see which were liked and which wasnt so i could improve on some and choose one or two to be the final choice for my business card.
The commen cencis is that business card 1 is the best option for me and what people seem to like as well. This is great because i also love the idea of business card 1 its the best design for me so its nice to see people agree on business card 1 i think overall its the best option and the best looking one for in terms of font and size as well as logo's.
Final logo choice -
These were all the responses about some of the business card examples since the majority voted for the business card 1 im deciding to look at the feedback from that sections some of the comments and most as well decided overall its a great design and the font and placement is good as well as the logo but people thought the font and spaced out look for the number and email was a tad too messy so i decided to edit that and change that through vista create.
This was the updated business card i created through the site vista create all i did was change the font and size of the lettering on the number and email because the feedback people were saying that it was a tad too messy and ruined the card so i decided to change that and as well i decided to change the 'moon productions' logo as well because i thought it might add to the overall change aswell. Overall i agree with the feedback looking back on it the lettering and placement was very messy on the number and email it brought the card down and should have been like this first time around
After this i decided to see if the feedback on this card was good and if i did well in the second devolopment stage and see if anything else could be changed about it or if the feedback i assessed to was good enough of a change.
I asked two important questions about to see if i improved on the feedback? and to see if any one could suggest any final choices or things i could improve on in the final version of the card.
The feedback i got was two main comments suggesting that the font and bold look for the number and email they should both match to make it look better and less random in a sense and the other feedback i got was too fix and change the 'moon productions' logo apperantly people the version before better because its more unique and added to the overall look of the card so i decided to go back into Vista create and edit the card one last time and amend the suggested changes people left me.
This was the final design i edited in vista create i decided to ament the changed that was offered and told to me through the form i created which was to match the bold look of the number and email font and to as well revert and change the 'moon productions' logo which i also did this is a great feedback. I love the overall card i think this will be my final design its clean, neat and minamilst enough to match my brand logo and ongoing work. I think its a fantastic business card.
